The planning has begun

I am a planner, a list maker. Alright, I am obsessive, I admit it.

When I was on Beta for Lich King I was already working out my strategy for Rep grinding. I had my gear list and I was ready to go once that down load was completed. But the thing is; IT WORKS. In the end it saves me a lot of time and frustration.

Now the PTR is out I am on it a little to do my scouting...Oh I don't want to spoil all the fun. As one of my hard core raiding friends was sharing. "We get on we learn the fights so we can do it and get it down and be bored that much faster."

I plan to enjoy each step of my journey. But I AM going to have a map of the road I am going to take and all the stops I want to make along the way. There are certain pieces I have seen that I know I am going to want to pick up that will make the rest of the trip more comfortable.

Blizz is still tweaking but there are nice looking crafted pieces I have seen that I know will have to be added to my gear bags. I have also seen links to some other items.

I wish I had the knowledge to link them for you all. Boots and rings, all sorts of things. It is looking like come fraction type items or maybe crafted gear along the lines of what was done in BC but we don't quite know what the missing mats are yet.

For now I am just working on getting those last few pieces of gear I want in preparation. Knowing that they will once again all be traded out for NEW pieces in a few weeks. It is the nature of the game. This is why I encourage people to have a plan. The more of your friends you can have along with you the further you can go, BUT take the time to enjoy the trip.

Random speculation

I love lore. It is one of the reason I have worked sporadically on getting the Lore Master title. Just got to some how find those last 25 quests in Kalimdor. For Alliance it is truly annoying as many of the quests send you back over to the Eastern Kingdoms but they COUNT towards the Kalimdor quests. But that is for another post.

With the upcoming release of Ulduar all sorts of Lore ideas are opening up. I can only speculate based on the cinematic what Blizz has in store for us. So speculate I shall.

The Guardians or "Keepers" are definitely coming into play. (Other wise known as the Children of the Titans)

Freya- The average player will know her from running around the basin. She left an "image" of her self there to protect it. She is the Big lady in green.

Thorim and Hodir - These guys are also familiar to the average player as anyone who has worked on getting their shoulder enchants in Storm Peaks has cursed them as some point or other.

The Iron Council - We have seen these guys before to in The Halls of Stone or at least lesser versions of them.

Yogg-Saron - Lokan yells his name and calls him Master. We know he is the final boss of Ulduar. An old god who the Titans couldn't defeat only contain and then only imperfectly.

So these are the bosses we have SOME familiarity with even if you are not to much of a lore nut. In total Blizz has shared there will be a total of 14 bosses in this new raiding instance. I am personally looking forward to discovering each one.

LET ME IN!! LET ME IN!!!

For those of you who have never experienced the pain and frustration of PTR or Beta before let me set one thing straight THIS IS A TEST! IT IS ONLY A TEST! DO NOT EXPECT TO BE PLAYING MUCH.

There are a FEW things you can do to make it a TINY bit easier for yourself.

1. Exercising patience should be the first order of business.

2. Put every ounce of gold you posses on the character you plan to upload. You will need it.

3. Make sure you have your character in a place that is NOT heavily populated. (Dalaran is a BAD BAD place to log out.) Northrend in GENERAL is not really a good idea.

4. Patches are a way of life. Whenever you are fortunate enough to be able to log on, check to make sure that your talent points have not been refunded yet again.

5. Don't panic about every little change. ENJOY being the test subject. If you can't do that, don't bother getting on PTR.

All pretty common sense stuff, but it is AMAZING how many people who have played this game for as long as I have never even think about it.

On another note, more information on Ulduar has been released including a cinematic of the interior with what appears to be visuals of viarious bosses and the war machines we will soon be getting our grubby little hands on. Looking pretty Epic if that even needs stating....I would post it if I had a CLUE how to....I will have to some how bully the plate wearer in my family into doing it for me as he contiues to teach me how to operate this Blog thing.

Giving In

There has been a lot of discussion going on recently about blogging on our guilds forums and in Chat. Now I will admit here and now that I am a complete and utter Computer Noob. The saying around our home is that "I learned computers in Self defense".

But I was getting tired of answer the same questions over and over and having people tell me "Your latest guild post looks like a blog, you need to start a blog. So ok, I did it. I started one. Are you all happy now?

But having discovered this new world I now have to learn to navigate it....God help me...It will mean I am harassing my poor husband (the one who actually DOES understand these evil boxes of wires) so I can set this thing up the way I want it. Because if I am going to do something I want to do it to the best of my ability and then some.

I already have big plans. (Of course they are all written out the old fashion way, on paper with a pen.) But in time it will be translated and I hope that I can make this a fun place in which to post all my Rogue knowledge and more importantly the knowledge I have gathered from those who know more than me.
